Enchanted World
Along a wooded path I strolled,
Eventually I roamed astray.
Wandering lost for time unknown,
My mind drifted away.
With visions of another world,
From the realm of forgotten dreams.
With hidden treasures of gold and pearls
and where fairies dance unseen.
An enchanted forest, dark and ancient,
Its secrets kept for ages yore.
Risk and peril forever present
amid the wonders to explore.
Creatures moving, breathing, living
In a land that time forgot.
Dangerous, magic, unforgiving,
The timid would dare not.
Shadows beckon from the darkened depths,
'Join us' they do plead.
Unresistant, I take the steps,
Caution I do not heed.
With childlike wonder they take my hand
And prance in sheer delight.
As I am taken, I understand
That I will be alright.
My familiar world I have departed
There is no turning back.
Happy, laughing and lighthearted
I vanish into black.
